Kuala Lumpur, 15 October 2015 – Maybank Investment Bank Berhad (“Maybank IB”) is issuing sixteen new European style cash settled call warrants over ordinary shares of AirAsia Berhad (“AIRASIA”), Datasonic Group Berhad (“DSONIC”), UEM Edgenta Berhad (“EDGENTA”), Hartalega Holdings Berhad (“HARTA”), Inari Amertron Berhad (“INARI”), Karex Berhad (“KAREX”), Kossan Rubber Industries Bhd (“KOSSAN”),  Supermax Corporation Berhad (“SUPERMX”), Top Glove Corporation Berhad (“TOPGLOV”), Unisem (M) Berhad (“UNISEM”) and V.S. Industry Berhad (“VS”). The Structured Warrants will be listed on Thursday, 15 October 2015 with an issue size of 100 million each.

This tranche features call warrants over counters that could potentially benefit from the weakening MYR currency. The current exchange rate may boost export driven sectors such as manufacturers of rubber, gloves and semiconductor due to potential foreign exchange gains and better price competitiveness. Also, companies with foreign currency-denominated revenue and MYR-denominated expenses will record higher profit margin from the forex translation gains. This tranche offers an opportunity to sophisticated investors who wish to participate in any potential upside from a range of sectors in the event of declining MYR.

The call warrants have the following gearings, AIRASIAC27 (2.84x), AIRASIAC28 (2.84X), DSONIC-CG (2.40x), EDGENTA-CD (3.94x), HARTA-CQ (3.59x), INARI-CK (3.77x), INARI-CL (2.83x), KAREX-CK (3.61x), KOSSAN-CJ (3.68x), SUPERMX-C3 (3.38x), SUPERMX-C4 (3.38x), TOPGLOV-CW (3.59x), UNISEM-CK (3.38x), VS-CA (3.20x), VS-CB (3.20x) and VS-CC (3.20x). The tenure of all sixteen Structured Warrants is approximately 12 months.
