Note: The lower Effective Profit Rate (EPR) will apply if more than one (1) withdrawal is performed in a month for a consecutive of 6 months.

With effect from 1 August 2022, ‘Split Tier’ profit rate calculation will be implemented for Yippie-i accountholder aged 18 years & above. The profit rate is equivalent to Savings Account-i.

To apply:

Visit a Maybank branch near you with the primary documents of child and parent/guardian.

Required Primary Documents

• Child: Original birth certificate and MyKid
• Parents / Guardian: Original Identity Card (IC) for Malaysians and Passports for foreigners

Please also bring along any of the following secondary supporting documents:-

• Valid Passport (if IC is produced as a Primary document)
• Valid driving licence
• Utility bills (e.g. water/electricity/telephone bills, Quit Rent, Assessment Notice) in the name and address of the customer opening the account
• Letter of employment
• Credit card

Effective 1^st January 2023, new Yippie-i accountholders will be entitled to an additional bonus profit of 0.10% p.a for up to 12 months from account opening (OR 2 cycles of profit payment i.e. 30th June & 31st December).

To be eligible, customer must grow a minimum Average Daily Balance (ADB) of RM1,000 during each 6-month profit payment cycle, i.e from 1st January to 30th June, and from 1st July to 31st December, depending on account open date.

Bonus profit is paid up to a maximum of RM30,000 ADB growth.

How to calculate Bonus Profit?

Example

Customer opens new Yippie-i account on 25.09.2023. If eligibility criteria is met, customer will be entitled to additional bonus profit from 25.09.2023 to 31.12.2023 on 1^st cycle and from 01.01.2024 to 30.06.2024 on 2^nd cycle. Thereafter, there will be no more entitlement for Bonus Profit.

Bonus profit will cease should the new Yippie-i accountholder reach the age of 18 years old during the entitlement period.

*For SPM, ‘A-' is not entitled.

How to qualify

Maintain RM1,000 in the account during the examination year for SPM, STPM/A-Levels until the date of submission for the Cash Award.

1st Class Honours Degree

The account must be opened before the accountholder reaches the age of 18. At the age of 18, the accountholder must maintain RM1,000 in the account. The account must be maintained until the date of submission for the Cash Award.

Claiming the Cash Award

The Cash Award claims must be performed at the accountholder's home branch within one (1) month from the official results announcement.

The Cash Award may only be claimed once regardless of the number of Yippie-i accounts held by the accountholder for each examination.
