[UPDATED] Additional transactions that will require Secure2u authorisation via the MAE app

Dear Valued Customers,

Effective 10th July 2023, the following transactions on the MAE app will require Secure2u authorisation. This is part of our continuous effort to strengthen your online banking security, in line with Bank Negara Malaysia’s latest update to combat financial scams. Please ensure that you have the latest version for MAE - 0.9.15.

• GIRO Transfer

• DuitNow Transfer to Accounts

• DuitNow Transfer via Mobile Number or ID


Secure2u is now ONLY accessible on the MAE app. You will not be able to use Secure2u to authorise transactions on the M2U MY app. Please download the MAE app and activate Secure2u to continue using this security feature.

How to activate Secure2u on the MAE app:

Step 1: Launch the app and tap ‘Secure2u’ under Quick Actions

Step 2: Tap ‘Activate Now’

Step 3: Confirm your mobile number and enter the One Time Password (OTP) received via SMS

Step 4: Enter your ID number

Step 5: Confirm your device name and you’re all set!

Please note that there is a minimum 12-hour activation period when you enable Secure2u on the MAE app for the first time or on a different device. During this time, any transactions requiring Secure2u authorisations will not be available.


How to use Secure2u:

Step 1: Log in to the MAE app or Maybank2u website to perform a transaction

Step 2: You'll receive a Secure2u push notification via the MAE app on your registered device

Step 3: Open the notification and approve or reject the transaction with just one tap, with no additional login required
