Maybank2u MY App to Be Discontinued Soon, Switch to the MAE App

Dear Valued Customers,

From 28 August 2024, the Maybank2u MY app will be discontinued. Instead, the MAE app will provide sole access to your account for banking needs. If you have not yet downloaded the MAE app, please do so as soon as possible as you will no longer be able to access your account or any features on the Maybank2u MY app after this date.

The MAE app includes all the functions available on the Maybank2u MY app and more, offering a comprehensive list of banking and lifestyle features, with enhanced security via Secure2u to authorise transactions.

Note: If you have not downloaded the MAE app, you will be required to register for Secure2u. After registration, you must activate Secure2u at any Maybank ATM. A minimum 12-hour activation period applies to first-time Secure2u activations to prevent unauthorised approvals. Find out more about Secure2u here.

Why is Maybank discontinuing the Maybank2u MY app service?

The MAE app provides enhanced security features and a broader range of banking and lifestyle services compared to the Maybank2u MY app. For the latest updates and to make the most of its features, switch to MAE.

Can I still access my account after the Maybank2u MY app after the service ends?

You will no longer be able to access your account or any features on the Maybank2u MY app once the service is discontinued. Please switch to the MAE app if you have not already done so as the MAE app includes all the functions of the Maybank2u MY app and more, offering a comprehensive suite of banking and lifestyle features. It also provides enhanced security with Secure2u as the only method to authorise transactions.

You can continue to access your account via the Maybank2u website at www.maybank2u.com.my.

Where can I download the MAE app?

You should only download the MAE app from the following official sources: the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or Huawei AppGallery. Please do not download any APK files from unofficial sources, as they can compromise your device and expose you to malware scams. Find out more about the MAE app here.

Do I need to create a new Maybank2u ID to log in to the MAE app?

You can access MAE with your existing Maybank2u ID. Follow the steps here.

I'm setting up the MAE app for the first time. How do I activate Secure2u?

If you are activating Secure2u for the first time or on a new device, please follow these steps:

Part 1:

Register for Secure2u via the MAE app

Part 2:

Activate Secure2u at a Maybank ATM

  1. Download or launch the MAE app
  2. Under Quick Actions, tap ‘Secure2u’ to register for Secure2u on your device
  3. Tap ‘Register Secure2u Now’ and follow the on-screen instructions to complete your registration
  4. Once your Secure2u registration is successful, you will receive a push notification and SMS reminding you to activate Secure2u at a Maybank ATM within 30 days

Remember to bring your debit, credit, or charge card as stated in the MAE app to the Maybank ATM after successfully completing Secure2u registration.

After registering for Secure2u on the MAE app, follow these steps to activate it:

  1. At the Maybank ATM, insert your card and enter your card PIN (Personal Identification Number)
  2. On the Main Menu, select ‘Secure2u Activation’
  3. Choose ‘Activate Secure2u’ and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the activation
  4. Once Secure2u is activated on MAE, there will be a minimum 12-hour activation period before you can use Secure2u to approve transactions. This helps to prevent unauthorised Secure2u activations.

How will this impact online banking services?

This will not affect online banking services. You may continue to carry out your everyday banking activities as usual on maybank2u.com.my and the MAE app.

I have both the MAE app and the Maybank2u MY app. What should I do with the Maybank2u MY app?

You may uninstall the Maybank2u MY app from your device and continue to enjoy seamless banking with the MAE app.

Will I be able to download the Maybank2u MY app from other sources?

The Maybank2u MY app is no longer available for download from the Apple App Store, Google Play Store and Huawei AppGallery.
