What is Malware Shielding?

Malware Shielding is a preventive security feature on the MAE app that automatically detects and notifies you of malware and risky permission settings on your device every time you launch your MAE app. This security feature offers enhanced protection against unauthorised transactions and a safer online banking experience.

Note: Maybank does not access, collect, process or store any personal information from the applications installed on your device through this feature. Your banking information and personal data remains confidential and protected.

How this security feature protects you

If the feature detects potential threats such as malware or risky permission settings, it will immediately notify you with necessary action steps so that you may then continue to use your MAE app securely. This helps to:

  2. Safeguard the money in your account
  3. Warn or stop you from performing banking activities on compromised devices
