What is DuitNow Request?


DuitNow Request allows you to easily request and collect payments from your customers. Then, all they need to do is click ‘Pay’ to send you the money!

How to send a DuitNow Request?


To send a DuitNow Request via the MAE app or Maybank2u web, all you need is just any ONE of your customer’s detail below:

  • Bank account number (non-Maybank accounts are accepted too, kindly refer to the ‘Who can use DuitNow Request’ section below)
  • Mobile number
  • NRIC number
  • Passport number
  • Army or Police ID
  • Business registration number

Note: This service is only usable with payers who have registered for DuitNow ID via the above details. Click here to learn more about DuitNow registration.

 

Via Maybank2u web:

  1. Log in to Maybank2u
  2. Go to ‘Pay & Transfer’ and click ‘Request’
  3. Beside ‘Type:’ choose ‘Send DuitNow Request’
  4. Beside ‘Request via:’ choose your payer’s ID type
  5. Key in the payer’s ID and your request details
  6. Confirm and submit the request

 

Via the MAE app:

  1. Launch the MAE app and tap on ‘Maybank2u’
  2. Select an account you wish to receive the money in
  3. Tap on ‘Send & Request’ and then ‘DuitNow Request’
  4. Key in the payer’s ID and your request details
  5. Confirm and submit the request

How to pay off a DuitNow Request?


Just as you can send a DuitNow Request, you can receive DuitNow Requests from your billers or other merchants too! When that happens, you’ll be notified either via email, MAE app push notification, M2U inbox or SMS. Then, you can easily choose to pay or reject the request.

Worried you may miss a notification? Here’s how to see your incoming DuitNow Requests and pay them off.

 

Via Maybank2u web:

  1. Log in to Maybank2u
  2. Go to ‘Pay & Transfer’ and click ‘Request’
  3. Beside ‘Type:’ choose ‘View Incoming Requests’
  4. You’ll see ‘Pending’ statuses for requests that need your action
  5. Click on ‘Pay Now’ to accept a request
  6. Review payment details and select an account to pay from
  7. Authorise your payment via Secure2u and you’re done

 

Via the MAE app:

  1. Launch the app and tap on ‘Maybank2u’
  2. Select an account that’s registered with DuitNow ID
  3. Select ‘Send & Request’ and then ‘DuitNow Request’
  4. Tap on a pending incoming DuitNow request you wish to accept
  5. Confirm the details, authorise the payment via Secure2u and you’re done

Fees and limits


The fees for DuitNow Requests are waived till further notice.

The limits for DuitNow Request transactions are as below:

The default limit of your DuitNow Request payment is RM3,000. You can set your limit via the Maybank2u web, just log in > ‘Settings’ > ‘Pay & Transfer’ > ‘Transfer Limit’ > ‘DuitNow Transfer to Bank Account’.

Who can use DuitNow Request?


Anyone whose DuitNow ID / account number is tied to a participating bank of DuitNow Request:

  1. Maybank
  2. Standard Chartered Bank
  3. Standard Chartered Saadiq Berhad
  4. Bank Islam
  5. Bank Muamalat
  6. Citibank
  7. HSBC
  8. HSBC Amanah
  9. OCBC
  10. OCBC Al-Amin

This list will soon be updated. You will not be able to send DuitNow Requests to DuitNow IDs / account numbers tied to any non-participating banks.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)


  1. Will my customers be able to reject DuitNow Requests?
    Yes, your customers have the option to reject DuitNow Requests. If that happens, you will be notified via a push notification on the MAE app.
  2. I don’t have a sole proprietor account, what do I do?
    Just apply for one. Click here to find an account that suits you.
  3. Is there a limit to the amount of DuitNow Requests that I can send to my customer?
    Send Request: Limit defaults at RM3,000 but can be increased to RM10,000 per request.

    Pay Request: Limit defaults at RM3,000 but can be increased to RM50,000 daily*
    * This is a shared limit with IBG and DuitNow Transfer.

    The limits can be increased or decreased via Maybank2u web. Firstly, go to ‘Settings’ > ‘Pay & Transfer’ > ‘Transfer Limit’ > ‘DuitNow Transfer to Bank Account’.
  4. Is there a limit to the maximum number of DuitNow Requests that I can send?
    Yes, you can send up to 20 DuitNow Requests pending the customer’s action at any given time. After sending the 20th DuitNow Request, one of the existing requests needs to be acted upon by the receiver.
